Hero Honda Women's Indian Open 2010
Day 3, Saturday 13 November 2010

It was an immaculate effort from England's gentlewoman DAVIES, LAURA who had a good week in India when she won the Hero Honda Women's Indian Open at the first playoff hole involving Thailand's SRISAWANG, NONTAYA, South Africa's CUNINGHAM, TANDI, the round two leader yesterday and Sweden's FRIBERG, LOUISE.

Davies now takes her fight to the last stop at next month's Eur500,000 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters in Dubai from Dec 8-11 at the Emirates Golf Club.

At the 'Desert Storm'she would be involved in a duel with South Africa's PACE, LEE-ANNE to decide on the winner of the Henderson's Money List.

Today's win at the DLF Golf & Country Club is Davies'79th. After a poor second round on second day, she fought her way back to finish the final round with a 2-under 70 to tie 213 with Nontaya, Cuningham and Friberg.

France's KIRKLAND, CASSANDRA E was the sole finisher on fifth spot with a total of 214. She played a final round of one-over 73, while defending champion PHATLUM, PORNANONG of Thailand (who was going for a hat-trick) and Italy's ZORZI, VERONICA finished joint sixth with 215 total.

Day 2, Friday  12 November  2010

Round one leader DAVIES, LAURA and current Henderson Money list leader PACE, LEE-ANNE of South Africa failed to live up to the expectations of the fans after both the favourites shot poor scores in the second round of the Hero Honda Women's Indian Open.

Davies went wayward and ended up with a six-over 78, while Pace finished with a five-under 77 that still keeps their duel for the Henderson Money List title alive.

Instead it was another South African CUNINGHAM, TANDI - a silent performer - who stole the show to end the day with the four-under 68. The pint-sized Cuningham has a two-round total of 140 and leads with a one-stroke cushion over Italy's ZORZI, VERONICA and KIRKLAND, CASSANDRA E of France who are in joint second spot.

"The key factor to my game today was patience. I did not want to experiment other things on the course and went for a tidy play. My patience paid off," said Cuningham, adding that her mind was set on playing a bogey-free round.

After picking up strokes on the 6th, 7th and 15th, Cuningham said it was a sweet fisih as she birdied the final hole that gave her the lead at the end of the two rounds..

Day 1, Thursday 11 November 2010

England's most accomplished golfer DAVIES, LAURA went on spin  to captivate the fans with a sizzling 7-under 65 to take a two-shot lead on the opening round of the Eur200,000 Hero Honda Women's Indian Open today.

Having had to go through the agony of being in the hotel for three days without her golf equipment, the Englishwoman only got news that her golf bag arrived about 9am this morning.

"I had to rush to the airport this morning before my tee-off and again make a frantic appeal as the airport authorities did not want to release the bag which arrived from China without signing. The golf officials spoke to the airport people and got my bag released," she said.

Back to the DLF Club, Davies said once she got hold of her golf bag, her mood changed for the better and "there you are I played
