It
was an immaculate effort from
England's gentlewoman DAVIES,
LAURA who had a good week in India
when she won the Hero Honda
Women's Indian Open at the first
playoff hole involving Thailand's
SRISAWANG, NONTAYA, South Africa's
CUNINGHAM, TANDI, the round two
leader yesterday and Sweden's
FRIBERG, LOUISE.
Davies now takes her fight to the
last stop at next month's
Eur500,000 Omega Dubai Ladies
Masters in Dubai from Dec 8-11 at
the Emirates Golf Club.
At the 'Desert Storm'she would be
involved in a duel with South
Africa's PACE, LEE-ANNE to decide
on the winner of the Henderson's
Money List.
Today's win at the DLF Golf &
Country Club is Davies'79th. After
a poor second round on second day,
she fought her way back to finish
the final round with a 2-under 70
to tie 213 with Nontaya, Cuningham
and Friberg.
France's KIRKLAND, CASSANDRA E was
the sole finisher on fifth spot
with a total of 214. She played a
final round of one-over 73, while
defending champion PHATLUM,
PORNANONG of Thailand (who was
going for a hat-trick) and Italy's
ZORZI, VERONICA finished joint
sixth with 215 total.
